Expanded Cinema vol.2 was a group exhibition from 02.12 -17.12.2023 organised by Kino Club, at HIAP Gallery Augusta at Suomenlinna Helsinki.
Curator Paola Guzmán invited Katie Ballinger and Natalie Eliassen to exhibit our interactive video installation Kaleido.
During the opening, Natalie performed Glitter UFO 4, in the installation, to a new version of her electronic sound work. Duration 6 min. The audience where using flashlights to light up the costume.
Kaleido is programmed by Katie Ballenger, it's allows the audiences to ineract with the use a remote control to change the kaleidoscopic projection of themselves. A web-cam was used to live record the person's standing in front of the projection. The audience could also record and save 5 seconds. The saved videos were then played in loop on a second projection on the backside of the wall.
